Helping underserved Washington, D.C communities, JetBlue Airways has installed free book vending machines in order to promote literacy.
It is a joint effort with Random House and a pilot in JetBlue’s annual Soar With Reading program that was launched yesterday with locations that include a church, grocery store, and a Salvation Army.
Other cities involved include Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York City and Fort Lauderdale using online #BookBattle to let people vote which city will receive 100,000 new children’s books.
