My given name is Carey Kay McClain. I was born in Longview, TX on 07/14/1966 to Robert and Marilyn McClain. I have two older sisters and a younger brother. We were raised in a loving middle class home. I attended Austin College, a small liberal arts college in Sherman TX. on partial scholarship. I received my BA in 1988 and my MA in 1990. I taught in public schools for 25 years and resigned in 2013 to follow my dream of writing. I currently live in Denison, TX with my partner of 23 years.
